In southwest France's Madiran region, Tannat is a powerful wine--dense, dark, potently tannic, sometimes foreboding. But this Tannat (in Ed's words, THE wine he sought for OlyWines when opening the store) is no such thing. Fresher, lighter-bodied, and more austere than it's French cousin, this is as good a daily-drinker as it is one to stow away in the cellar.
