Domaine Des Forges Savennières 'Le Clos du Papillon'

This 100% Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley, grown in shallow sandstone soils with ample  sunlight, is round in the mouth exceptional minerality imparted by the shaly terroir. It takes its name from the butterfly (or, "papillon") shape of the Savennières village, the wings of which are shared by only a select few wine producers. 

Pair with lighter-colored, rich dishes like scallops, veal blanquette, mushrooms in cream sauce, or a finely seared foie grasfor a truly special experience.
