ATACALCO 2024 Semillon 'Carabe de Itata' (Itata, Chile)

Vinicola Atacalco is a joint project of Chilean Wine veterans Ricardo Baettig and Carlos
Spoerer. These two friends and colleagues began making wine under their own label in 2017.
As big fans of Northern Italian skin contact wines, they decided to start a small side project
informed in this style. This is what we consider the new wave of winemaking coming out of Chile. They bring in terra cotta amphoras from Italy to age their wines in. 

This wine is 100% Semillon from bush vines in clay and granite soils. The grapes spend 4 months on skins. The resulting wine has texture, body and mineral rich flavor. We're really excited about this offering.
