BORDIGA Vermouth Di Torino Rosso (Turin, Italy)

Bordiga is an old-school producer of northern Italian vermouths, small-scale and still operating in its original building (and pot still!) founded in the 1880's by a famous Torino bar owner. This vermut rosso (or sweet vermouth) is based on the Piedmont grapes Nebbiolo, Moscato, and Cortese, fortified with neutral grain spirit, and sweetened with sugar from Martinique. Aromas of sweet spices, zesty, and floral all at once—a fascinating, lighter departure from staples like Cocchi and Carpano Antica.
