CASTEL PUJOL 2025 'Folklore PetNat' (Rivera, Uruguay)

CASTEL PUJOL is one of our new favorite projects around here. They are situated in the Rivera region of Uruguay, located way inland. Most other vines in Uruguay sit on the coast, making this a unique place. Soils here are volcanic & alluvial, iron-rich with great drainage. These soils led the PUJOL famliy to plant vines here in the 1970s, with the help of UC Davis.

This wine is 70% Trebbiano & 30% Malvasia. Both varietals are native to Italy but have been growing in Uruguay and surrounding areas for a while now. Aromatics jump out of the glass, with prominent grapefruit and white peach notes on a medium, smooth body.
