CASTELLO BANFI 2019 'Excelsus' Toscana IGT Red Blend (Tuscany, Italy)

Toscana IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) is a 'Super Tuscan,' so called for using international wine varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah) that are non-traditional to the local area (Tuscany).  Excelsus, or Highest Excellence is a nod to this American, woman-led Tuscan winery striving for excellence beyond compare.  This Cabernet Sauvignon blend with Merlot are Bordeaux's red wine staples.  The hills of Montalcino are perfect for growing the same.  This hearty red is is rich in flavor, ample with subtle nuances of plum, black fruits (blueberry/black currant) & cedar.
