This Champagne was chosen for you in order to provide you a great example of both a vintage Champagne & also an 'Extra Brut' Champagne.
50% Chardonnay & 50% Pinot Noir. One third of the Chardonnay planted in 1957 is issued of a special clone of Chardonnay: Muscat Chardonnay. That means that this particular clone of Chardonnay was produced to be a more aromatic version of the Chardonnay varietal. More aromatics equals more flavor. As this is vintage Champagne, all grapes used to make this wine are from the vintage of 2016 - a vintage beyond compare in France!
Robert Parker (wine critic) writes: "It reveals scents of pear, lemon zest and peach, mingling with dried flowers. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, ample and textural, with a rich yet vibrant core of fruit upheld by a spine of incisive acidity. It finishes long and citrus-inflected, retaining a bright, tension-filled profile due to its vinification without malolactic fermentation. Drink: 2026-2035."
Extra Brut @ 2 grams/liter of residual sugar. This low, LOW level of residual sugar is all but unnoticeable on the palate. Dry Champagne. Dry, vintage Champagne.
This Champagne was fermented & aged in neutral French oak barrels adding the frame to an already perfect drop of citrus delight. Biodynamic farming.
