DOMAINE ALAIN & CYRIL GAUTHERON 2024 Chablis (Burgundy, France)

100% unoaked Chardonnay from the pristine lands of Chablis.  This is a new producer for us at Oly Wines, but it certainly is not a new producer. It is a family run estate, as has been so for 7 generations.  Today, Cyril Gautheron, supported by his father Alain, is making some of the appellation’s finest wines. This particular wine is made from old vines (70ish years). It is raised two-thirds in stainless steel and one-third in barrels. This wine is made to be slightly more rich & round than others in their portfolio, with a discreet hint of oak that rounds out the minerality without obscuring it. Otherwise, it is full of racy citrus and mineral notes classic to Chablis. A must try for Chardonnay & Chablis lovers.
