FAMILLE HOPPENOT 2023 Fleurie 'Origines' (Beaujolais, FR)

This is 100% Beaujolais from the village of Fleurie, which is one of the ten 'Cru' villages of Beaujolais. All Beaujolais (across all of the 10 Cru) is made from 100% Gamay - a fruit forward red wine grape. 

Beaujolais, and more specifically the Fleurie appellation, enjoys a semi-continental climate with Mediterranean influences. This climate, combined with granite soils, allows Gamay to express itself fully by bringing floral notes of violets and aromas of red fruits such as raspberry and cherry to the wines. Fleurie is often considered one of the lighter and most feminine appellations of Beaujolais. The region has a rich wine-growing history and is renowned for the early harvest compared to other French wine regions.
