This same wine has a name change with the new vintage of 2024.  The new name of 'Prisse a Chasselas refers to two different vineyard sites in Prisse (village) & Chasselas (village) used for this individual bottling from this dynamic producer!

Husband wife team, both winemakers working on two domains. CHAGNOLEAU is the family property of Frantz and requires that both work the domain as well. 100% Chardonnay from the village of Saint-Veran (Maconnais, Burgundy). We believe 'Prelude' is a brand name for an 'assemblage' (blending) of several estate fruit vineyards. Light toast of oak, deep concentration of Chardonnay. Citrus leading to tropical notes. Great lineage, unbelievable wine, and we are lucky to have it in store for you.  Hopefully, more of these wines will be vincoming!

These are winemakers we want to be following... Unbelievable background: "Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau is a small estate run by two talented winemakers, Frantz Chagnoleau and his wife Caroline Gon (winemaker at Héritiers du Comte Lafon).  Frantz has a degree in Oenology and cut his teeth working for Olivier Merlin in the Mâconnais. Caroline holds two degrees in agricultural engineering and oenology; she worked at Newton Vineyards in Napa Valley before returning to France to work with Dominique Lafon as head winemaker for Héritiers du Comte Lafon. The relationship with Dominque as a friend and mentor has had a great influence on the couple, which is evident in a lineup of pure, terroir driven Mâconnais wines."  M. SKURNIK Imports
