G.D. VAJRA 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo 'Clare J.C' (Piedmont, Italy)

Move over Beaujolais Nouveau! (Just kidding - there's room for both at the table.) This is a very Nouveau-like style of the Nebbiolo grape, from Piedmont. VAJRA notes that in the 17th and 18th centuries, Nebbiolo was very different from the expression that we know today. It was lighter, fresher, crisper and had a light fizz. 

Their research on the Nebbiolo of those days led them to make this wine, that we were tickled by. Indeed, it has the lightest fizz to it, and is loaded with fresh fruit notes. Dry, with light tannins that balance the whole thing out.  Try this with turkey dinner!
