LAPOSTOLLE 2023 Sauvignon Blanc 'Grand Selection' (Central Valley, Chile)

LAPOSTALLE is a French family making world-class wine in Chile. They stick to a European style of winemaking, but like to showcase what the unique terroir of Chile. This wine is from Cachapoal, part of the Rapel Valley in central Chile. Why that matters? It sits directly beneath the foothills of the Andes, where the cooling influence of the mountains translates into bright, structured minerality and high acidity in the glass. They choose blend in 15% Sauvignon Gris, which is a clone of Sauv. Blanc that is a bit of a richer, rounder and more mineral forward. The result is an expressive glass with balance, fullness, herbaceous-ness, white fruits and wet-stones.
