LUNA GAIA 2023 Grillo 'Agramante' (Sicily, Italy)

Unlike other Sicilian varieties, Grillo is not an ancient grape: It was created in 1873 by agronomist Antonio Mendola by crossing two traditional native grapes: Catarratto and Zibibbo. ‘Agramante’ is named for the king of Africa and fiercest opponent of Charlemagne in the “Orlando Furioso” epic. The label depicts Orlando at Charlemagne’s court, protecting Paris from siege.
