LYRARAKIS 2021 Liatiko 'Aggelis' (Crete, Greece)

100% Liatiko from a single vineyard. Aggelis vineyard, planted in the 1930s with own-rooted Liatiko vines, highlights the wealth of East Crete. The low yields lead to small grapes of high intensity of flavour. Indigenous yeast fermentation and malolactic conversion. 1/3 of the bunches were fermented whole in small oak tank and barrels. 40% matured for 1 month in new oak. No fining, no cold treatments and is bottled unfiltered. 

Ruby colour. Aromas of berry fruits marmalade and cherry with sweet spicy notes. Balanced with firm acidity. The mouthfeel is fruit-driven & the tannins are nicely structured.
