Straight from the mouth of winemaker Matthew Rawn himself, as he did an event here with us at Oly Wines, Matt said that the Hidden Horse Red Blend is meant to be a table wine, one that goes down around a kitchen table, with a movie, without a second thought. He shared that the Red Blend was born of an experiment, where he would bring blends to his family home and carefully watch which one was drunk the fastest. What wine people reached to pour more of without a second thought. The one that one is the one you’re trying - the Red Blend. This is the perfect, charming blend that represented what Two Mountains does. They make unpretentious wine, using stellar biodynamic and sustainable practices. Ask us more - we’d love to share.
Varietals: 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 7% Syrah, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec.
An absolute store favorite since our opening. When we had Matt Rawn, owner, conduct a wine tasting event for you – guests – he referred to this ‘Bordeaux Red Blend’ as a “Washington Bordeaux Blend.” This definition intrigued me as too often I hear that expression of Bdx Red Blend for WA red blends. Matt’s rendition of a WA Bdx Blend includes the red varietal of Syrah. Check out the new package for this WA winner.
