"At lower elevations in Yamhill County the earth in which vineyards are planted is a form of marine sedimentary soil. Marine soils are porous, thin, erosion prone and demand excellence in farming. Geology plays a crucial role in determining how vineyards grow and the type of fruit they produce. This wine is a combination of barrels from all of our Chehalem Mountains based vineyards and it shows how darkly fruited, structured and mineral Pinot Noirs from this AVA can be."
