PATTERSON CELLARS 2019 Tempranillo (Colombia Valley, WA)

WOW. 100% Tempranillo from 2 different vineyards. Our two sources for Tempranillo could not yield fruit that is more different from one another. Tempranillo from Red Heaven on Red Mountain tends toward the dark and brooding – very high pH, lots of leather and dry tobacco. The same varietal from Rosebud on the Wahluke Slope brings higher acidity, spice notes and red fruit to the blend. Blended they complement each other beautifully, resulting in a wine that is both approachable and complex. Notes of sweet dark plums, full body, fine tannins.
