PIAGGIA 2020 Carmignano Riserva (Tuscany, IT)

This is the flagship wine of PIAGGIA, located in the Carmignano appellation of Tuscany. This is one of the smallest DOCGs in Italy. Here, Sangiovese rules, but is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc & other international varietals. 

This particular blend is comprised of  70% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot. Indeed - it is what some call a Supertuscan. Aged for 18 months in oak, it is a full bodied and rich wine great to pair with red meat and other hearty dinner foods.
