This is a secret baby Brunello - 100% Sangiovese Grosso gapes from Brunello di Montalcino DOGC vineyards. Farming for the “Monteleccio” is the same as for their Brunellos—they adhere strictly to lunar and planetary cycles to guide them—but the former, which is a selection of declassified Brunello fruit, spends just one year in large botti instead of three. That's the only difference. While they could classify as a Rosso di Montalcino, their Rosso ages 18 months. This fresh number with one year of aging is declassified, and a great way to start enjoying Sangiovese.
