Ah, Chianti. Chianti is named after the region it hails from (Chianti), which is within Tuscany in Northern Italy. It is made from the grape Sangiovese, one of Italy’s major red wine grapes. Chianti’s are famously medium bodied & bright, loaded with red fruit notes and nuanced by earth, herbs and leather with a signature Italian bitter edge. The high acidity in the wine makes it not only refreshing, but it balanced out the tannins (astringency) in the wine and make this the ultimate table wine. Translation: Chianti goes GREAT with dinner.
