THE WALLS 2021 'The Ramparts' (Red Mountain, WA)

83% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre & 4% Counoise.  'Ramparts' are any of the walls that create the fortified villages in medieval times, Europe.  THE WALLS Winery wants us to believe these 'Ramparts' are a nod to the defensive walls surrounding the Southern Rhone city of Avignon.  These three varietals are reds known for great wines of the Southern Rhone, France.  Little Counoise actually exists and is primarily a lighter skinned grape used in blending.  Great new wine from an increasingly popular WA superstar winery.  Pair with your main courses and a hearty stew, in particular would be justice.
